Google Calendar Writer Access Error


When connecting your Google calendar to your calendar, you may see the following error message:

You need to have writer access to sync appointments to the selected Google Calendar. Please check with the Google Calendar owner in case syncing is required.

Follow the steps below to update the writer access and resolve this error message.


Step 1:

The owner of the Google calendar needs to log in into Google and go to calendar.google.com


Step 2:

Locate the calendar that you wish to integrate, then position your cursor over the calendar, and click the three-dot icon and select "Settings and Sharing".


Step 3:

Scroll down to the section labeled “Share with Specific People


Step 4:

Click on the option to “Add People” and input the email address associated with the Google Account that is connected in your FGF user profile settings as the "Linked Calendar"


Step 5: Select the option to set the Permissions as “Make Changes to Events” > then click on the “Send” button to save the changes.


After following these steps, your Google calendar should start synchronizing again
