Client Portal | How to Connect Your Custom Domain / Subdomain

You can connect your custom domain / subdomain with your membership site and client portal to create a branded login and portal area for your customers. You can use a subdomain of a domain you own, something like learn.yourbusinessname.com or a separate domain that you own that is just for your portal, something like yourbusinessnameportal.com.

To setup a custom membership domain or subdomain:

  1. Go to Sites, Client Portal, Settings, Domain Setup.
  2. In the custom domain box, type in the custom domain or subdomain that you want your customers to visit to access your courses/communities/portal.

Area to type in your custom portal domain is circled

  3. Click Add Domain.

Add custom portal domain button is circled

  4. Click Continue on the Connect Domain/Subdomain window.

    Connect your domain/subdomain window

  5. If your domain is compatible with Domain Connect, click Authorize and follow the steps to authorize the addition of the records.

If your domain is not compatible with Domain Connect, the manual DNS record will be provided. Add this to your DNS Manager as a CNAME record and click Verify Records.

  6. Wait for domain settings to update.

The exact time of DNS propagation can vary due to several factors, such as the TTL set for the DNS record, your ISP's update frequency, and geographical factors. Typically, it is suggested to allow between 24 to 48 hours for DNS propagation.

  1. Confirmation message appears in the top right corner.
  • Domain successfully updated

  1. Visit custom domain (e.g., learn.fgfunnelsrocks.site) to see the branded login page.

Note: The domain / subdomain you connect with your membership site needs to be unique, it cannot be used also with your funnels/websites under Settings -> Domains.
