How to Change the Owner of a Community Group
This article goes over how to transfer ownership of a community group from the current owner ( you ) to another team member or client.
- Copy the email address of the individual who will be the new owner of the community group [ This must be the email address that they currently use to login to the community group ].
- Navigate to Memberships > Communities.
- Locate the community group you wish to transfer ownership of.
- Look for the pencil icon next to your name; if you are the current owner, you will see it.
- Click on the pencil icon
- In the search field of the pop up window paste in the email address of the new owner.
- Review the pop-up confirmation and click the checkbox to confirm.
- Click "Transfer Ownership" to complete the transfer.
- A pop-up will confirm that ownership has been successfully transferred to the new owner.
Important Notes:
- Ensure that the correct email address of the new owner is pasted to avoid transferring ownership to the wrong individual.
- Communicate with the new owner beforehand to inform them of the ownership transfer and any related responsibilities.
- Once you transfer owner ship of the group, you will remain in the community group as an "Admin."
