How to Disable Email Notification for the Client Portal ( including communities, courses, certificates )

We’re excited to introduce the new "Email Notification Preference" feature in the Client Portal. This update gives you more control over the email notifications that are sent in relation to your community groups, streamlining communication and reducing inbox clutter.

With this release, client portal owners can now easily manage the email notifications they send from various child apps ( i.e. Community Groups, Courses ) within the Client Portal. This means client portal owners can choose which types of email notifications they want to send. instead of being overwhelmed by unnecessary notification emails, client portal owners can now opt to send only the most relevant ones.

How to Disable System Generated Emails in Client Portal

  1. Go to the "Sites" option on the left side menu.

  1. Hover over the "Client Portal" option at the top and click on "Settings."

  1. Click on "Email Settings.

  1. Uncheck the checkbox to disable the system-generated email for specific actions such as when someone joined the community group, or approved requests to join the community group ( the change will automatically be saved ).

  1. Repeat the process for other email options if you want to disable them as well.

Important Notes:

1) If you leave any of these system generated email checked /enabled, then you will be charged for each email that is automatically sent to your members.

2) Some emails cannot be disabled. Example: The "Invite to Group" email cannot be disabled, since this an email that you would send manually.

3) Give the system some time to update after making changes to email settings. Then, refresh the "email settings" page to ensure that all your desired emails are unchecked.
