Steps

1. Create or duplicate the affiliate opt-in form

  • Go to Sites in the left sidebar.
  • Click Forms at the top.

Create a new form, or duplicate an existing form that already has the basic fields you need.

A simple affiliate opt-in form only needs:

    • Full Name
    • Email

Rename the form so it’s easy to identify later.

    • Recommended: include the affiliate campaign name in the form name.
    • Example: Example Affiliate Campaign - Sign Up

2. Configure the form fields and button

  • Open the form builder.

    Make sure the form includes:

    • Full Name field
    • Email field

Use the settings panel to mark both fields as required.

    • This ensures people must enter their name and email before submitting.
  • Change the submit button text to something clear like Sign Up.
  • Save the form when finished.

3. Copy the form link or embed it on a page

  • After saving, you can use the form in two ways:
    • Direct form link: click Preview and copy the form URL.
    • Embedded on a funnel page: place the form on a page and send people that page link instead.
  • Use whichever option fits your workflow best.

4. Create the first automation: form submission adds the person to your affiliate campaign

  • Go to Automation.
  • Click Create Workflow.
  • Start from scratch.

Set the trigger to Form Submit.

    Add a filter:

    • Form is → select your affiliate opt-in form.

      Save the trigger.

      Add the first action:

    • Search for Affiliate
    • Choose Add to Affiliate Manager

      Add the second action:

    • Search for Affiliate
    • Choose Add to Affiliate Campaign
    • Select your affiliate campaign from the dropdown
  • Save the action.
  • Turn the workflow on and save it.
  • Name it something clear, like Example Campaign Sign Up  .

5. Organize the workflow into a folder

  • Create a folder for all automations related to this affiliate campaign.

Name the folder something easy to recognize, such as:

    • Example Affiliate Campaign Automations
  • Move the form-submission workflow into that folder.
  • This keeps all campaign-related automations in one place.

6. Create the second automation: send a welcome email when someone joins the affiliate campaign

  • Create another workflow from scratch.

    Add a new trigger:

    • Search for Affiliate
    • Choose Affiliate Enrolled in Campaign

      Add a filter:

    • Campaign is → select your affiliate campaign
  • Save the trigger.
  • This workflow will run any time someone is added to that affiliate campaign.

7. Build the affiliate welcome email

  • Add an action to Send Email.

    Set the email details:

    • From name: your name or business name
    • From email: use a business email address
    • If you use a dedicated sending subdomain, include it for proper alignment

Write a subject line such as:

    • Welcome to the [Campaign Name]

Use custom values/tags to personalize the email.

    • Include the affiliate’s first name
    • Include the campaign name
    • Include their affiliate referral link
    • Include their affiliate email as login/username info
    • Include their affiliate magic login link for easy portal access

8. Include the key affiliate instructions in the email body

  • In the email body, explain what the affiliate needs to do next.

    Recommended content to include:

    • A friendly greeting using their first name
    • Confirmation that they’ve joined the campaign

Instructions to start sharing their unique referral link

      A note about commission rate

      • Example: You’ll receive a 40% commission on each sale.
      • Note: commission rate is set in the Affiliate Manager, so type it manually in the email
    • Their login details
    • Their magic login link to access the Affiliate Portal
  • Explain that the first time they use the magic link, they’ll set their password and be taken to the dashboard.

9. Add a footer, save, and publish the welcome email workflow

  • Add your standard email footer.
    • Make sure it includes the unsubscribe link/custom value.

      Save the email action.

Name the workflow something descriptive, such as:

    • Example Affiliate Campaign - Affiliate Welcome Email
  • Toggle the workflow on to publish it.
  • Save the workflow.
  • If needed, refer back to the template example mentioned in the tutorial for formatting guidance.
