FAQs

If you are setting up a new WordPress website, migrating an existing one, or adding additional domains, you must configure your domain's DNS to point to your WordPress instance. This article will help you with the setup and share some best practices.

Setting Up a New WordPress Site

  1. To set up your WordPress site, you need to have purchased the WordPress hosting feature under the "WordPress" tab on the left side menu.

  • Click on the "Activate WordPress for $14.99/month" button.

  • Click on the "Pay $14.99 and Subscribe" button. The card you have set as the default payment method for your FG Funnels subscription, will be charged $14.99 automatically when you click this button.

  1. To set up your WordPress site, you can get started by clicking the "+ Create Site" button.

  1. Choose if you wish to create site from scratch, using a template or clone an existing site.

  1. Fill in the Site and User details. Then, please wait for about 2-5 minutes until the installation is complete.

After the installation is complete, you will have access to the following:

The WordPress Dashboard

    • Here you can access your site and admin portal.
    • Manage Additional Domains & Primary Domain.
    • Import an Existing WordPress Site using the All-in-One WP Migration plugin.
    • Refresh Cache for the WordPress Site.

User Management

  • Here you can manage all users for the site.

Backup & Restore

    • Here you will see the backups for the last three days
    • Backups happen daily at 05:00 AM CST
    • You can also initiate manual backups as needed.

Make sure to backup your WordPress site before making any major changes.

Advanced Settings

    • You can manage FTP Access and Communication Settings here.

    • Cache Management can be access from Advanced Settings.

    • Enable or disable WordPress Debugging: Utilize this tool to access PHP error messages, warnings, notices, and other developer-related notifications on your website.

    • Server Settings: Manage your WordPress Database using phpMyAdmin.

Adding an Additional Domain

Once your site is ready to be published, you can connect your domain to the WordPress site. Please follow the steps in this article for instructions on how to connect your domain with the WordPress site.

What is Included in this Subscription

Here is everything included in this plan:

  • 1 WordPress Site
  • 2 GB Storage
  • 20 GB Bandwidth
  • 10,000 Visits
  • 5 Manual Backups
  • Free SSL
  • Theme and Plugin Management
  • Staging Environment

At this time, this is the only storage capacity we are able to offer at this time. If you think your site will need more storage, bandwidth, or visits, WordPress Hosting would not be a good fit for your site.

Support Limitations

Since WP is a third-party integration, our support team will not be able to help support building, creating, and managing your WordPress Site. Also note that if this feature experiences a bug, the developers will not be able to build a fix quickly. Expect for bug fixes to take around two months, since they have to communicate with WordPress and work within their API limitations.

Here is what we can help with:

  • Initial WordPress installation and setup questions.
  • Questions about DNS configuration for connecting domains.
  • Accessing the WordPress admin panel.
  • Server uptime and availability issues.
  • Guidance on accessing our provided hosting features.
  • Assistance with account billing and hosting plan inquiries.
  • Basic troubleshooting of hosting-related errors.

FAQs

Q1: I'm unable to add the same domain to my other FG Funnels subaccount/location:

The same domain/subdomain can't be used in 2 subaccounts/locations.

Q2: Why can't I update my primary domain?

The primary domain can be updated, if you have added an additional domain.

Q3: I've added the A / CNAME record, but the domain is still not being added.

This can happen due to a few different reasons:

  1. There is a typo in your domain name.
    • In this scenario fixing the typo will resolve your issue.

  2. Your DNS changes haven't propagated yet
    • In this case, please give it some more time, and try again after 24 - 48hrs to see if it works.

  3. Your DNS configuration is not set up correctly.
    • Please send us a screenshot of your DNS records at support@fgfunnels.com, so we can see the DNS records that you have entered into your domain's DNS manager.

  4. Maybe you have conflicting (multiple) records for the same subdomain [for example, if blog.mydomain.com has a CNAME record pointing to wp3.msgsndr.com but it also has an A record pointing to some other provider].
    • In such cases removing the other duplicate record will fix this issue.

Q4: I can't connect my root domain (ex. mydomain.com).

Please make sure there are no additional A, AAA, or CNAME records, pointed toward your root domain, if you plan to use your root domain for WordPress.

Q5: How many WordPress sites can I have per FG Funnels account?

You can have as many WP sites as you wish to under a single subaccount, and each site will be $14.99/month.

Q6: I cannot add my plugin for some reason.

There are some plugins that are blocked. This is because such plugins could potentially lead to performance-related challenges or disrupt the smooth operation of your website. Here is the full list of blocked plugins: https://support.fgfunnels.com/article/1771-list-of-blocked-wordpress-plugins
