This article outlines the steps to create and utilize a custom email value for sending emails in workflows and email campaigns.


Key Steps:


1. Access Settings

  • Navigate to the Settings located in the bottom left-hand corner of the interface.
  • Select Custom Values from the left side menu.

2. Create a New Custom Value

  • Click on the New Custom Value button.
  • Enter a name for the custom value (e.g., From Email).

3. Enter Email Address

  • Input the email address you want to use as the From Email (e.g., support@fgfuniversity.com).
  • Ensure the email address aligns with your sending subdomain for optimal deliverability.

4. Save the Custom Value

  • Click on Create to save the custom value.

5. Use Custom Value in Email Templates

  • Go to the Marketing section and select Emails > Templates.
  • Open an email template and click on the three dots in the upper right corner.
  • Select Settings and find the From Email field.
  • Click on the tag icon, type from, and select your custom value to insert it.

6. Save Changes to Template

  • Click Save at the bottom to save the custom value in the email template.

7. Create a New Email Campaign

  • Click on Campaigns and then Plus New to create a new campaign.
  • In the Sender Schedule section, click on the tag icon and type from to pull up your custom value.

8. Use Custom Value in Workflows

  • Go to Automation and create a new workflow.
  • Click on Settings at the top and find the Send to Sender Email field.
  • Click on the tag icon, type from, and insert your custom value.

9. Ensure Email Action Field is Blank

  • In the email action, leave the From Email Address field blank to default to the custom value.

10. Update Custom Value if Needed

  • If you need to change the email address in the future, simply edit the custom value by clicking the three dots next to it and selecting Edit Custom Value.

11. Use Email Template in Workflow

  • In the email action, choose the email template you created earlier to automatically pull in the custom value.

Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure that the email address used as the custom value is valid and properly formatted.
  • If you manually enter an email address in the email action, it will override the custom value set in the workflow.
