How to Complete a Test Payment Using Square
This article outlines the steps to successfully run a test purchase through the a funnel checkout page using Square.

How to Run a Test Purchase Through Your Funnel Checkout Page with Square
- Click on 'Sites' in the left side menu.
- Select the funnel you want to test.
- Click on 'Settings' at the top of the funnel.
- Scroll down to 'Payment Mode'.
- Toggle it off (it should turn grey and show the word 'test').
- Click 'Save' at the bottom.
- After saving, you will be redirected to the overview page.
- Copy the URL link for your checkout page.
- Open an incognito browser window.
- Paste the copied URL into the address bar, and open the checkout page.
- Enter any name for the test contact.
- For the email address, use your own email.
- To run multiple tests without creating new emails, add a '+' and a word after your email (e.g., test+test1@example.com).
- Always close the previous incognito window before starting a new test.
- Note that the phone number field is disabled to avoid merging contacts.
- If testing text messages, use a different phone number each time or delete the contact before re-testing.
- Once you've entered your name and email address, click 'Go to Step Number Two' on your order form.
- Choose your recurring or monthly payment product and any order bump products you want.
- Check that the total price is correct and that the test mode icon is displayed.
- Use a Square test card (link provided below the video).
- Enter a future expiration date.
- Use '111' for CVV ( this is just the number in the Square documentation ).
- Enter a valid postal code.
- Click 'Complete Order'.
- Wait for the order to process and be redirected to the OTO page ( if you have an OTO page ).
- Choose to add the OTO or skip it.
- You will be taken to the thank you page, confirming the test purchase.
- Close the incognito browser.
- Go back to your funnel "Settings."
- Toggle 'Payment Mode' back on (it should turn blue and show 'live').
- Click 'Save' to accept live payments again.
