How Do I Get Phone Service Enabled
You'll need Twilio - or - LC Phone in order to send text messages through your FG Funnels account. LC Phone is not recommended for businesses outside of the US or Canada.
Twilio
A Twilio account can easily be linked directly with your FG Funnels account. Here is our tutorial showing how to set up a Twilio account: Setting Up Twilio For Your Account.
You can use Twilio or LC Phone. Since LC Phone is optional, you can choose to use your own personal Twilio account with FG Funnels if you prefer.

Here Are Some Key Differences Between LC Phone and Twilio
- Phone service providers, such as Twilio and LC Phone, will usually block text messages that you attempt to send to contacts who have a phone number with a different country code than your LC Phone/Twilio number. However, you will not be charged for failed text messages like these. So, if you buy a Australia based phone number and try to text someone in the UK, that text message will fail.
- It's easier to get support with a rejected A2P campaign with LC Phone, than Twilio.
- If you follow the steps in our article and tutorial video, which goes over the A2P best practices, but your A2P registration is rejected by the US Mobile Carriers, then you could email us, and a member of our team will review your A2P campaign, and highlight somethings that the US Mobile Carriers usually reject, and recommend some changes to help get it approved.
- Twilio's pricing is typically lower, especially for international businesses based outside of the US.
- Twilio does not seem to have a ramp up model like LC Phone does. So, when you start out sending text messages, if you go above the daily limits LC Phone sets, then texts above the limit fail to send ( see ramp up model details here: SMS Ramp Up Model ). If you would prefer to skip the ramp up, we can manually increase your text message sending limit on the system's backend.
- LC Phone as a built in system feature that automatically adds your sender ID and opt-out language on the first text that a contact receives from you. With Twilio, you'll need to remember to include your sender ID and opt-out language ( you could create custom values for these two pieces of info, just so you don't have to type them into every text template you make ).
- New phone related features are usually released for LC Phone first, then Twilio a few months later. New phone related features do not get released often though.
A2P Registration
If you are a business owner located in the US or Canada, you'll need to buy a phone number and complete your A2P registration first, before you can send text messages. We have tutorials to guide you through the A2P process here:
