Moving to the New Client Portal Experience

FG Funnels is moving every client portal to the New Client Portal Experience: one connected, branded place for your courses, communities, billing, files, and more. You can switch your sub-account early to start using the new features now, or wait and be moved over automatically.

What's Changing

The classic client portal and classic communities are being retired. The in-app notice lists December 1, 2026, and everyone moves over automatically with all data intact.

Until then, admins see a notice at the top of the client portal and inside each community:

  • Classic client portal retires Dec 1, 2026 on the portal home page
  • Classic community retires Dec 1, 2026 inside each community

Both notices are marked Admin Only Alert, so your members don't see them.

Important: Switching is one change for your whole sub-account. Turning on the new experience moves your client portal and every community in that sub-account at the same time. You can't switch just one community.

What's New in the Client Portal

A new portal dashboard

Members land on a dashboard that shows their communities, courses, and pending invoices, a Pick where you left off section, and their finances and shared files. The menu is grouped into Memberships, Finances, and Business & Operations.

A new communities page

The Communities page shows My communities, with each member's activity, and Discover communities.

A new community experience

Each community gets a refreshed layout and new features, including:

  • Polls: Ask members anything in a post.
  • Paid channels: Charge for access to a channel.
  • Voice notes: Record voice notes in post comments and chats.
  • Badges: Recognize top contributors, admins, and more.
  • Multiple pricing plans: Offer different membership tiers in one community.

Community admins also get a new Settings tab with options like Analytics, Welcome Setup, Badges, and Content Moderation.

Before You Switch

  • You need admin access. Only an admin can turn on the new experience. If you're a sub-account user, ask your account admin to make the switch.
  • Check your branding. The new portal uses its own default colors, so review your portal's look after you switch.
  • Check any custom code. If your portal or communities use custom CSS or JavaScript, use Preview first to make sure everything still looks and works the way you expect.
  • Your members don't need to sign in again. Their access carries over.

How to Turn On the New Client Portal

1. Open a community

In your FG Funnels sub-account, go to Memberships > Communities > Groups and click Login on any community.

2. Review what's new

In the notice at the top, click See what's new. To look around first, click Preview. The preview opens in a new tab and doesn't change anything for your members.

3. Turn it on

Click Turn on for everyone.

4. Confirm the switch

Go to Memberships > Client Portal > Dashboard. Before the switch, it shows a Try the new client portal button. After the switch, it shows LIVE New client portal.

Note: LIVE can appear before your portal and communities finish updating. See What to Expect After You Switch.

What to Expect After You Switch

  • It can take a few minutes, and a second click. If your portal and communities still look the same, or the notice comes back after you refresh, wait a few minutes, then click See what's new > Turn on for everyone again.
  • All communities move together. Every community in the sub-account switches to the new experience, not just the one you were viewing.
  • The notices go away once the switch is complete.

If You Choose Do It Later

Click Do it later on the notice to keep using the classic portal and communities for now. Nothing changes for your members. Your sub-account moves over automatically when the classic versions are retired.
