Create and Manage Multiple Pricing Plans in Communities
You can now create multiple pricing plans within a single community. Offer different membership tiers, set flexible pricing, and give members access to exclusive channels, courses, and events based on their subscription.
In this article
Tip: Plan a core tier, a premium tier with the extras, and a clear reason to move up.
Note: Multiple pricing plans are part of the New Client Portal Experience. If your community still shows the classic layout, with a Classic community retires notice at the top and only Free and Add Price under Settings > Subscriptions, turn on the new experience first to see the options in this article. For steps, see Moving to the New Client Portal Experience.
What You Can Do with Multiple Pricing Plans
- Create multiple plans: Offer tiers such as Basic, Pro, VIP, and more, each with different benefits.
- Set flexible pricing: Choose weekly, monthly, yearly, or one-time payments in different currencies, with optional free trials.
- Bundle exclusive content: Include private channels, paid events, and paid or private courses.
- Customize plans: Add descriptions and benefits, reorder plans, and highlight your most popular option.
- Manage memberships: Activate, deactivate, edit, or delete plans and view member counts.
- Allow plan switching: Members can upgrade, downgrade, or change their billing options.
How to Create a Community Pricing Plan
Plans are created in a four-step setup: Access, Details, Pricing, and Benefits. Click Next to move from one step to the next. A live Preview beside the form shows how the plan will look to members.
1. Open your community
Go to Memberships > Communities > Groups, then click Login on your community.

2. Add a plan
In your community, open Settings > Subscriptions and click Add plan.
Tip: Don't see Add plan? If Settings opens in a pop-up window with Add Price instead, your sub-account is still on the classic experience. Turn on the New Client Portal Experience, then come back to this step.
3. Choose what the plan includes
On the Access step, select the private channels, courses, and events included in the plan. General community access is always included. Click Next.

4. Name the plan
On the Details step, enter the Plan name and Description. Both are required. Click Next.

5. Set the pricing
On the Pricing step:
- Select your Currency.
- Enter an optional Free trial length in days.
- Turn on the billing frequencies you want to offer:
- Weekly
- Monthly
- Yearly
- One-time
- Enter the amount for each frequency you turned on. Amounts must be greater than 0.
- Click Next.
You can also turn on Test Mode to create the plan against your test payment integration while you try it out.
Tip: To offer free access, don't create a $0 plan. Use Make this community free instead.

6. Add benefits
On the Benefits step, add, edit, or drag to reorder the benefits shown to members. Click Add benefit to add another.
7. Create the plan
Check the Preview, then click Create plan.

8. Activate the plan
New plans start as Inactive, so members can't see them yet. Turn on the toggle beside the plan, then click Activate plan to confirm.
Important: When you activate your first plan, your community becomes paid. New members will have to subscribe to join.

How to Manage Existing Pricing Plans
Open your community and go to Settings > Subscriptions. From here, you can:
- Activate or deactivate: Use the toggle beside a plan.
- Edit: Click Edit to update plan settings.
- View details or delete: Click the three-dot menu beside a plan.
- Highlight a plan: Select Mark as most popular from the three-dot menu.
- Reorder plans: Drag plans into your preferred order.
- Track members: View the number of members subscribed to each plan.
- Preview: Click Preview member view to see how plans appear to members.

How to Make Your Community Free
Turn on Make this community free under Settings > Subscriptions to let members join for free.
Note: Paid plans are paused while this option is on. If no plan is active, your community is free automatically.
