Building and Publishing Android Apps with Client App Builder
Client App Builder can create a branded Android app for your members, using AI and the FG Funnels Client Portal features you already have. You can preview the app inside a phone frame, then generate an installable Android app file (APK) right from the builder.
If you haven't used Client App Builder before, start with Getting Started with Client App Builder. Most steps are the same for web and mobile apps.
Availability: Android apps are available now as a downloadable APK. Google Play and Apple App Store publishing, and iOS apps, aren't available yet.

Creating a Mobile App
Start a new app from the Client App Builder home screen, the same way you would a web app. On the Choose a starting point screen, choose Mobile under Platform, then pick your starting point:
- ClientPortal standard: Your existing Client Portal, restyled as a mobile app, with its sign-in, courses, and communities.
- Describe it instead: Every screen designed by AI from your description.

Important: You can't change an app from web to mobile (or back) after it's created. To have both, create two apps. Both count toward your limit of five apps per account.
Tip: If you plan to update your app often, choose ClientPortal standard.
Click Continue, then answer a few setup questions, such as your app's name and how members connect with you. A Your app so far phone preview on the right updates as you go. Next, pick a color palette and fonts, then click Build my app.

Note: Your first mobile build can take up to half an hour, longer than a web app. You can leave the page open while AI works. If its checks find problems, it fixes them on its own before your app is ready.
Customizing Your Mobile Experience
Depending on your starting point, you can configure supported mobile features such as:
- App name, branding, colors, and fonts.
- Bottom navigation tabs (up to four) and header layout.
- The opening screen after sign-in.
- Whether the app opens in Light or Dark mode.
- Community and course navigation.
- Custom pages and external modules.
- Device capabilities such as camera and photo access.
To change any of these after the build, ask AI in the chat, or use the suggested prompts above the message box.
New members can sign up in the app using a join code.
Previewing Your Mobile App
The builder shows your mobile app inside a phone frame, so you can check the design and navigation before you generate an installable app. The preview uses your real Client Portal content, so you'll see your own courses and communities.

Generating Your Android APK
Plan and test your app before you build. New screens only reach members in a new APK, so build once your screens are ready.
- In your mobile app, click Publish at the top right.
- Make sure APK (Signed download) is selected.
- Under App configuration, check your App name. It matches your app's branding name. To use a different name on members' phones, check Customize store name.
- Upload your App icon and Splash image. Click Upload, or choose an image from your Media Library.
- Optional: upload an Android Firebase file (google-services.json). Your APK can build without it.
- Click Save configuration.
- Click Build signed APK, then monitor the build status. A typical build takes about 15–25 minutes.
- Download the signed APK when it's ready.

- New screens reach members only when you build and share a new APK.
- iOS apps aren't available yet.
- Some Custom Object features, including record-based payments and media attachments, are web-only.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I publish my app to Google Play or the Apple App Store?
Not currently. You can generate an Android APK to share with members. Store publishing and iOS apps are marked "Coming soon."
Can I make changes after I generate the APK?
Yes, but members only see new screens after you build a new APK and they install it. You can build up to 10 APKs per app, so batch your changes before each build.
Can I convert my web app into a mobile app?
No. Create a separate mobile app. You can have up to five apps per account, web and mobile combined.
Why is my mobile app taking so long to build?
Mobile builds take longer than web builds. Your first build can take up to half an hour, especially if AI finds and fixes problems along the way.
What happens if a mobile build fails?
Review the build status or error details, then send another prompt to fix the issue. Mobile build checks may point to the affected file and location.
