How to Purchase a Domain within FG Funnels

The Domain Purchase feature in FG Funnels allows you to buy and manage domains directly from FG Funnels. There are three main steps to purchase and configure domain in FG Funnels.

Purchasing a Domain

  • To purchase a domain, go to Settings from the bottom left menu of your FG Funnels dashboard.

  • Then click Domains from the left menu of Settings.

  • From the Domains menu, click the Purchase a Domain button from the top right hand corner.

  • Type in the domain you want in the search bar and press search.

  • A list of domains will appear with the searched domain and related, recommended domains. These will include the cost for the first year and the price that the domain will renew at after the first year.

  • Click the blue Buy button to purchase the domain. Review the terms and pricing in the popup and if you agree, check the I agree box and click Buy.

  • Allow the domain registration process to complete. This generally takes about 1 minute. Once your domain is active, you will see it listed under Internal and will have a green dot before the domain in this screen.

  • Once your domain is active, proceed to configuring your domain to make it usable within FG Funnels.



Configuring Your Domain for Use Within FG Funnels

  1. Navigate to Settings -> Domains. Click on Manage next to the domain you purchased in FG Funnels to see the DNS records.

  1. Select the Connect this Domain button in the upper right hand corner.
  1. When the Connect a Domain screen appears, click on Connect next to Funnel/Website/Store/Blog/Webinar.

  1. When the Connect Domain screen appears, ensure that your domain is listed then click Continue.

  1. Under the popup that appears, select if you want to add the www. version of the domain as well and hit Continue.

  1. The next screen you will see says that your domain is already authorized because it was purchased in FG Funnels. Select Add Records.

  1. Wait for the records to be added. This can take up to 1 minute. Once the records are added, you will see the screen redirect back to the Domain overview screen and your domain configuration will be listed.
  2. Once your domain is configured, if you added the www. version of your domain in addition to the non-www. version, you will want to set up a redirect from within FG Funnels, so that visitors go to the same page whether or not they added the www. Setting the Home Page for the Domain

The instructions for setting the home page of the domain are below. These are the same instructions as for any domain which can also be found in this article. Changing the Default/Home Page on a Domain

  1. Go to Settings located in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

  1. Scroll down and click on the Domains section on the left side menu.

  1. Find the domain that you want to change the default page for in the list. Internal means it was purchased from within FG Funnels, external means that it was purchased outside of FG Funnels. The directions are the same no matter where you purchased.
  1. Click on manage next to the root domain for the domain or subdomain that you want to change the default page for.
  1. Click on the three dots next to the products connected under the heading of the specific domain or subdomain that you want to add the default page to.
  1. Select Edit from the options that appear.
  1. Locate the default path setting and click on it.

  1. Choose the new page you want to set as the default for the domain from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click Save to apply the changes.
