Learn Through A Funnel: Account Prep

Before you build your first funnel, there are a few foundational steps to knock out. These apply no matter what type of funnel you're building, and once they're done, you're ready to go. Here's your roadmap.

1) Set Up Your Business and User Profiles

Many custom values throughout your FG Funnels account pull directly from your business profile and your user profile, so it's worth getting them squared away early: Set Up Your User & Business Profiles


2) Connect Your Payment Processor

FG Funnels integrates with Stripe, PayPal, and Square (plus Authorize.net and NMI). Stripe is the most popular choice in our community and is the only option that supports Apple Pay and Google Pay. You can also enable/disable Klarna, AfterPay, and Affirm from within your Stripe settings.

3) Connect a Domain or Subdomain to Your Account

  • Don't have a domain yet? You can purchase a domain directly through your FG Funnels account by following the steps in this guide: How to Purchase a Domain within FG Funnels, and a member of our team will add the domain to your FG Funnels account for you.

When to Use a Subdomain

When you connect your domain to FG Funnels, your current website will be replaced, meaning it would no longer be accessible when people enter your domain in their browser.


But here's the good news: if you'd like to keep your existing website live while also using FG Funnels, you can use a subdomain with your FG Funnels account instead. Here are a few subdomain examples:


  • Coach.YourDomainName.com
  • Consultation.YourDomainName.com
  • Resources.YourDomainName.com

If you sign up for a domain onboarding here, a member of our team will create the subdomain and connect it to your FG Funnels account for you.

ℹ️ Important:

Please make sure to enter your subdomain in the "Domain you are requesting for us to connect: *" field (please see the example below ).


This way your current website will be left untouched. So, your main website will stay on your root domain (YourDomainName.com), while you just use a subdomain with FG Funnels.


If you want to connect a domain to your FG Funnels account, but you also want to keep your website active on your third-party website builder (Squarespace, WordPress, Showit, etc.), then using a subdomain with your FG Funnels account would be your best option.

4) Set Up Your Email Service for Your FG Funnels Account

For someone sending fewer than 15,000 emails per month, we recommend LC Email. It's built right into the FG Funnels platform. To set your emails up for the best deliverability possible, check out our email wizard here:

LC Email operates on a pay-as-you-go pricing model. Here’s how it works:


  • Rate: $0.002025 per email sent

  • Example: Sending 1 email to 1,000 contacts = 1,000 emails, costing roughly $2.03.

  • A $10 wallet balance covers approximately 4,938 emails.

  • Your unused wallet balance rolls forward month to month.

  • This model works especially well if you typically send fewer than 15,000 emails per month.
